How Tapping Can Help You Be One Of The 8%
I came across some interesting statistics this week, that were rather astounding.
Only 8% of people are successful in achieving their resolutions or goals each year.
8% of sales people achieve 80% of the sales.
8% of managers are high performing managers.
In other words – only one person in every 12 – will achieve their goals, their resolutions or the success they really want…and deserve.
What was interesting about the research was that there was no LUCK involved.
Those statistics also showed that only 8% of sales people would make up to seven sales calls to achieve a sale.
That only 8% of managers constantly up-skilled and up-levelled their knowledge through books, seminars or actively seeking mentoring.
But there is more to it.
Over the past 3 ½ years I have worked almost exclusively with people who want to achieve success in their lives, but feel there is just something that holds them back.
And the first thing I look at is how successful they are at manifesting their goals or intentions.
Because the reasons you do not achieve the intentions you set, has nothing to do with your ability, your education, your experience or your status in life.
The ONLY reason you do not achieve the goals you want is simply what you believe possible for you.
The loud inner voice we often refer to as the ‘itty bitty shitty committee’ that lives in our head.
You are capable of far more than you give yourself credit for.
Don’t believe me? How many successful people have you watched and there is a little voice in your head that says “You know, I could have done that?”
“If only I had had the right mentor, the right opportunities, the right education, the right support… or whatever.”
The fact is, that many people who have the right mentor, opportunities, education, support often don’t make it either.
The people who achieve success are those who believe they are worthy of achieving success.
That’s where this wonderful evidence based modality of tapping comes in. Because it releases the limiting beliefs and blocks that keep you part of the 92%.
How does it work? When I am working with clients, I ask them to write down what they want to achieve and then sit quietly for a moment and write down every single thought that comes into their heads.
The thoughts often range from “It’s too hard”, “I haven’t achieved before” “I don’t think I can”. …to “Who do I think I am”, “Do I really deserve this?” “What makes me think I am so special” … and on and on it goes.
It’s the self talk that paralyses us, sabotages us, stops momentum, finds excuses, creates the fear, the doubt and disbelief.
The issues that are not real.
The majority of us don’t have bombs falling around us, or guns pointed at our heads, or lack of food or water or shelter – those are the things that may stop you from achieving what you really want.
But the thoughts in our heads and the words in our minds are not real. They are a culmination of the people, words and events from our past, that shifted our belief in what we think we are worthy, deserving or capable of having.
That’s it. Whatever your reality is right now, is the sum total of what you believe about you.
What tapping does is that it releases our emotional attachment to a belief that holds us from stepping into that true power of us.
